possibly moving to nassau and looking for advice

Just found this forum and hoping to get some advice. I live in tampa florida and most likely going to move to Bahamas to work. They are covering the work permit and getting me a small car so those two are settled.
I'm looking for a nice safe place for my wife and daughter and myself to live. A 2/2 would be good and thinking I would like to do a gated community. I won't be making a whole lot. I found a few properties for around $2k a month which is pretty high. Are there any areas to stay away from?
Also what would a good guesstimate for "bills" be? Electricity, water, sewer, etc. per month? Thanks all!
