Cheaper living in Freeport???

I just read the post from Wonderer 771 and the responses to his post about "higher cost of living vs no income tax" and have to admit I was a little disappointed in the outcome. I would love to plan on retiring there in the Bahamas but based on those responses, it just seems like the cost of living there in Nassau is DEFINITELY out of the question. SO....... my question is : Is the cost of living in the Freeport area any cheaper than over there in Nassau or is it pretty much the same?? I'm 54 years old (from Oklahoma) and am trying to get everything together so I can retire at about 60 so I've still got time to do my research. Any help or comments will be greatly appreciated.
