Hoping to Retire to Belgium

Hello. I love receiving my Expat updates.

My wife and I are in our mid 40s, so this is a bit down the road. I am disabled, and receive Social Security from the US Govt. My wife works at horrible Walmart.

We are hoping that her being just 2nd generation from Belgium would make it easier for us to emigrate. Her Grandmother came by boat, and their family name is DeJaeger.

The family is from a small town called Pittem. I am not sure if it has been consumed by a larger city or not. If it were possible, we would love to live there now, but with children at home and aging Parents, now isnt the time.

I would appreciate any guidance. Ive hit too many dead ends with Consulates in the US, and wnder if there is an office in Belgium I could contact. Again, any help is very appreciated :)
