legal time frame to fix defects in a newly delivered house

Dear all,
I bought a house in Belgium and list of defects written down during the delivery of the house by the constructing company. Defects include items paid in the project but not installed at all, so missing completely, preventing us to use our house properly.

The company says that they have 1 year to make fixes. I wonder if this has any legal background even if it would in the contract. It does not make sense to me. Is there any section in any law covering this ?

Thanks a lot

Regards
