Pet travel from BZE to San Pedro

Greetings,

Wanted to know what you might recommend travel wise bring my pet to San Pedro. Thought initally flying but I guess they charge an extra price even though he was a small carry-on on United Airlines. I thought about the harbor taxi but appears this may be at least a 10 minute ride to the harbor then an hour and a half to San Pedro.

My main concern is having him locked up in his carrier the entire time not knowing if he may be out of his carrier if we come by ferry. Appreciate you comments and suggestions.
