Building Costs

1. We have researched building costs in Belize and find a wide variety of conflicting information. Some information sites show building costs at $30 to $50 per sq foot, and others show it at $50 to $80 per square foot. Can someone who has built a home there please advise what the average square foot cost to build a concrete structure, and what exactly the cost per square ft includes, without the land cost included? I've seen in some places that electricity isn't included and the walls have to be carved out to accommodate it. Is that an extra cost incurred after the concrete structure is completed?

2. We have heard a lot of different opinions concerning whether or not to bring a vehicle with us or sell ours and just pick up a good used vehicle when we arrive. We plan on coming in under the QRP plan, so it isn't a matter of paying tariffs. We just don't know which would be better. Are there reliable used car dealers in the Sarteneja/Corozal Town area?
