Move to Sao Paulo??

Hi, My name is Gabriela and am currently living in the US. I have lived in Mexico and Panama in the past and have thought about moving to Sao Paulo now. My question more than anything is, if i decide to stay, is it very difficult to get residency?

I was able to live in Mexico and just travel back and forth to keep my visa updated. I lived there on and off over the years. I never got my dual citizenship. :(

In Panama, I lived there for 12 years, most of which I was there without a visa. Unfortunately they do routine road blocks and check for ID and/or legal docs, making it more difficult to travel to the interior and causes more of a headache than a problem since mostly you were able to get out of it.

Why Brazil? I love the language! I love the culture! Another experience. :) Any help would be great. Thanks. Bjos
