fair price for teaching English

I am here in Brazil and have found an area where there is a great demand for Brazillians to learn everyday english..my wife ( who is Brazillian and Bi-ligual ) and I are planning to give some private english lessons from home..we are trying to figure out a good price to charge for teaching some everyday english..I have been told by some Brazillian english teachers here that they would love to attend any and all classes I might have in the future..I spent 1 afternoon at an english teaching school and discovered that I could teach probably more that most of the Brazillian teachers teaching english here..does anyone have a good idea as to what I might charge for such a service and if I should charge by the student or by the hour or both..any imput would be greatly appreciated..
