estimated time for a spouse visa

I was wondering if anyone knew for certain or nearly certain how much time it take to get a spouse visa to the US for my Brazilian wife ? I have heard from one source maybe 6 months total from the time on the I 797C priority date ..mine being Jan 30 this year..and other sources have told me possibly as long as 2 years..Does anyone actually know for sure or is it all just a crap shoot ?
