Work Visa

I am about to move to Brazil to work for a International company located in Florianopolis. I will be arriving in country on a business visa, because I need to begin work soon and I could not wait the month it takes to receive a MRE # for my work visa. I was just wondering if anyone knows how difficult it is to obtain a work visa while already being located in country. Do you know how long the work visa application process takes? I will have all of the required paperwork from my company, but just want to see if there is any issues in obtaining a work visa while in country.
