Learning Capoeira for 6mos

Hello everyone,

By way of introduction, I am born and raised in Japan, African-American,
who is a naturalised Australian citizen (...I know, right).
I have only 'lived' in America during my military training.

The first week of November 2014, I will be in Brasil with the intention of training
in capoeira for 6 months with the aim of collecting 1,000 hours of training.
The reason I am doing this is because of my love and passion for the movement
of capoeira and experiencing Brasil from a cultural perspective is something I have always wanted to do.
The last time I was there was in 1996 whilst in the US military during the Clinton administration.
I did not get to experience the culture then because we were doing anti-drug
warfare throughout South America.

My questions are these:

How do I go about finding the best Capoeira studio where I can learn primarily
regional and perhaps angola? I intend to train 4hrs, 6 days a week in Capoeira
and 2hrs, 6 days a week resistance training so it is preferable the studio is close
to the gym I go to.

My current research indicates Salvador is where Capoeira originated and has the
best studios and Rio seems to have more infrastructure. Do you recommend
Rio over Salvador? I am 43 and stopped doing backpacker experiences long ago
and will be looking to replicate the amenities I currently enjoy in Melbourne so that
I am able to focus 100% on my training. I live in Southbank.

My current list of things to organise when before I arrive are as follows (What else should I add to the list?):
- mobile phone & internet access
- accommodation (6mos, furnished)
- transportation, either a bicycle or small car
- language classes
- gym and studio for capoeira

Happily yours in freakishly explosive Vitality,
