I have received a quote from Uni-Med for private health insurance in Brasil. There are two ways you can take it.
The first less expensive is $235 USD if I was to use a Private Hospital and if I needed to stay overnight or long-term, I would be placed in a shared room (2 to 4 beds) depending upon the hospital.
The more expensive is $272 USD for a private room for me. It is pretty comprehensive and covers worldwide. I would need to pay upfront but will be reimbursed in full upon submission of receipts. This also includes LifeFlight. If I would need a higher standard of care, for instance, I would be flown by jet or helicopter to a more qualified hospital.
Certain preexisting conditions are on a grace period. Cancer is 2 years from policy inception.
These prices are based upon today's exchange rate with the Real. About R$5.30 to the USD$1.00.
