Expat California state taxes

Avoiding California state taxes while living abroad seems to need a lot of planning. For example, even if I sell my CA house and move to Brazil, will I have to file and pay CA state taxes? Would I need to move to Florida for example and transfer my drivers license there to be considered non-resident in CA? I am worried about future CA taxation of my social security benefits.
There are several expat tax services on the internet, but it is hard to decide between them. Do you have any advice on which expat tax company to use? Any one to recommend? Any one to avoid?
Thanks!
