Studying at Open University whilst waiting on visa

Hi,

We want to apply for a Visa to Canada, working from the points system it seems better if I apply as the main applicant with my husband and 2 children.

I am 30 working in the IT Sector for the last 10 years, IBM Trained in house so I have no official diploma, or certificate.

What I was thinking of applying for the visa saying I have a certificate or diploma in an IT area and studying it with Open University, that I can do it as quickly as I want and by the time the application comes through I will have the required diploma or certificate. I also have relatives in Canada, and my husband is seemingly a required worker as he is an articulated lorry driver with 20 yrs experience.

We are living in Ireland and married in Canada in 2003 on holidays. Any suggestions would help
