My adult daughter and I are seriously considering a relocation from the San Francisco California Area (US) to the lovely little city of Victoria. We have made 2 visits and love the size and energy of this quaint little city.
Our needs/concerns/questions:
1. We have a need for spiritual community. We are without family and are wondering about if there are churches or spiritual teachings (we are open) in Victoria ?
2. Employment availability in human services ? (examples may be: teaching assistants, family advocate, ESL jobs, or part time jobs) ? I am 55 and not looking for anything full time. However, I need something fulfilling and a little supplement to my savings and my social security. My daughter has the wish to complete her college degree and get certified as a preschool teacher; Early Childhood degree).
3. Lastly, the weather. We are accustomed to dreary drizzle, however we are concerned that we do have a need to see the sun (maybe a few hours a day / or for a period of 6 months out of the year; a few days out of the week?) We are certainly not expecting much warmth, just to be able to see the sun is good for us....can anyone be specific about this? LOL.
