Retired US Merchant Mariner who hates cold-best city in CA ?

Dually old white guy (in good shape) who is retired - 65, wants to move to Canada.
Only know BC ad Toronto. Like Toronto better but don't like freezing.
Would like to find work in the marine industry - mate, deckhand etc (BCFerry) - or electrical and mechanical tech assembly/installation (like Subway train builder-electrician)- or aviation (FAA licensed) -
Last choice security.
Might consider living up there summers for 6-8 months too. Year around would be better.

Give me options in BC or the east coast (Never been there)
I know Toronto pretty well and can't get past freezing for 5 months (temp might be ok). Thanks
