Sponsorship for work visa

Hi there! My wife and I are moving to British Columbia (from North Carolina) in a couple of weeks. She has dual citizenship and will be sponsoring me for a work visa. We are planning on renting an AirBnb for the first few weeks we are there while we both look for jobs and a more permanent residence. I was wondering if this is ok, or would I need a lease in order to apply for my work visa?

We were also wondering what would be best as far as driving across the boarder. I'm guessing it would be better for her to drive the Uhaul across since she is a Canadian citizen?

Thanks in advance for the help!
