collect inheritance

An inheritance "valevista" is about to be issued in Chile for my share of of the sale of our original family home. How can I receive and deposit the money here in the USA? I left Chile to marry and become a U.S. citizen 30 years ago.
I also have a valid Chilean passport. I recently went to Chile to try to expedite the matter but, not living and working there, no bank would allow me to open an account. So, I have no way to deposit the valevista there and then wire transfer the money here to the USA. I was told having a Chilean bank account was necessary in order for me to receive the valevista. That seems illogical given all the expats who must be eligible for inheritances abroad.
I understand a Chile an valevista is equivalent to a cashier's check so does it make sense or is it even possible to have it sent to me by DHL or FedeX insured? Is there a better way?
