self-employment

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, with a MA and a JD. I would like to open a private therapy practice in Shanghai for the ex-pat community as well as those Chinese who presumably have been educated in the west and are familiar with the benefits of therapy.

I know I face complicated visa issues, but for now, does anybody know anything about foreigners offering this sort of professional service in China? I would welcome comments/opinions/hypotheses about the potential demand for such services, the likely hourly fee that the market would bear, and the feasibility of self-employment of this nature in general.

I have extended experience living and working in Asia, to include the PRC. Thanks.
