Disabled U.S. Vet looking for Veteran Friends in Barranquilla

My name is Mark. I am a U.S. veteran who will move to Barranquilla, Colombia permanently soon. I need friends and advice from them moving to Barranquilla. I plan on living in Colombia the rest of my life. My kids are grown and I have no ties here in the U.S. except family. I have learned spanish and being 100% disabled with the V.A. has given me much to be thankful for. I want to continue going to school there to master the spanish language. I will travel extensively but make Barranquilla my hub and home. Immersing myself in spanish will speed up what I have already learned and give me a better chance of assimilating into society there more easily. I want to get a nice apartment and a car and extend my passport and get a visa extension when necessary. Please give me ideas and if you can a contact email address and phone number if possible. I have so many questions but no friendly acquaintence to help me. I will arrive there for 7 days in September for a brief visit to get to know the embassy, where the colleges are, get apartment names and prices, get local market prices on appliances (beds, mattresses, computers, radio, kitchen wares etc..,). Any help from a U.S. Veteran or American would be greatly welcomed and appreciated. Thank you - Mark C.
