Hi all... new member.

I am an American currently living and working in Boston. Planning to retire within a couple of years, I am looking at Colombia, specifically Medellin, as either a full or part-time retirement haven. My choice of Colombia is currently based on what I have learned from personal research about Colombia's desirability regarding its cost of living, weather, and cultural amenities. However, I realize one cannot get a true sense of a country’s personal desirability without spending some extensive time there, and I am in the process of planning both ashort (2 weeks) and long (6-8 weeks) term visits within the coming year.

In the meantime, I am hoping that by becoming an active member of this forum, I can both expand my knowledge and understanding of the pros and cons, limitations and landmines, and opportunities and … of what appears to be an exciting country to live and/or visit… and where I am able, to contribute what I learn along the way.
