Cost to build house in Pereira

We're thinking about going to Colombia for a while. We have family land and think it would be better to build a house. That way my mom could move there once she retires in about 10 years.

I've heard some figures that sound too crazy for a stable home and others that are for homes way to big, 10,000 sq ft and bigger.

We would like to build something around 3,000 sq ft. At least 6 bedrooms 4 baths open living area. We prefer brick walls and Spanish tile for the roof.

We would be buying everything there. But I'm mostly I'm interested in finding out how much just to build a decent home that won't crumble in an earthquake, or at least has a good chance.

How about a pool, any experience?
