I received my cedula today. It's not all good.
I was unaware that one's blood type goes on the cedula. Blood type is not on many records in the US and I did not know mine. I put down my best guess at Migracion, which was wrong. My thinking was that it couldn't be that important considering it wasn't deemed important enough to have it listed on any documents in the US.
Wrong! US hospitals get around not knowing blood type for someone that needs a transfusion with a temporary fix until they run a test. Colombia seems to be a lot smarter than the US in this respect (and probably lots of others).
In order to correct my cedula, I would need to re-apply and pay the fee again. It seems worth it. I'm curious if anyone else ran into this issue.
