Music/musicians in Medellin

As part of my exploration of moving to Colombia to semi-retire, I am a part-time professional guitarist here in the States. I am accomplished in many styles and I do have an affinity for Latin and Brazilian music. My thought is to stay actively involved in music once I am based in Medellin.

Based upon any of the experience of forum members, in your opinion, how difficult would be it to join or form a band comprised of locals and/or American expats to play live contemporary jazz and Latin music? Is there a community of good musicians in Medellin who would welcome a talented American musician?

I am thinking of doing a Santana tribute band, as I am very good in that style. Would there be an audience in Medellin for that kind of music?

Any comments would be very much appreciated.
