I was able to navigate the SURA appointment page and my first visit to my assigned primary care physician. The doctora was very young and spent a good hour with me. Upon arrival at the office I was directed to the second floor where the was an automated sign in kiosk. I was assigned a number and watch the large TV type display for my number which directed me to a desk where they gave me a slip of paper with my exam room number.
I was called in at the exact moment of my appointment. I had arrived a bit early as I expected to have to fill out a lot of paperwork.
As it turned out the doctora herself completed all the forms and as mentioned she was not rushed.
After the intake interview, I was offered the opportunity for a prostate exam and required to fill out paperwork if I wanted it or not. After that experience my blood pressure was taken and it was a bit elevated and I was advised to come back for check after the weekend
I was given a prescription to pick up. The visit cost 4,500 pesos and the medicine was 4.500 as well.
The next day I appeared for lab work. Open only between six am and nine am. I noted that the line seemed to progress in an irregular fashion and discovered that the people getting called in out of order or arrival had appointments; lesson learned. Also, they wanted me to not take my thyroid medicine prior to blood draw; so, had to return Monday and was a long line due to then clinic was closed Saturday due to some obscure Catholic Holiday.
While waiting for lab work I was informed that I could go to another room and have the blood pressure checked with no waiting. BP was my usual 110-65 and we had a good laugh when I explained why it was elevated before.
Trying to get my lab results on line has been a challenge and I will return tomorrow; after 10 am and have them printed out, sigh.
regards,
elp
