Pay in Pesos?

As I have been out of Colombia for a while, I wonder could any reader help me with this question.
When using a foreign (Euro or Dollar) credit/debit card for a purchase, which option should one choose?
Pay in Pesos? Or Pay in the foreign currency?
There is a difference in what will be debited from the foreign card, isn't there?
I used my European debit card for purchase of furniture, a significant outlay, and now I am wondering did I make the right choice when paying.
