I have seen reference here to visa types that require Health/Travel Insurance coverage and EPS is not allowed for these types of visas. It also seems for these visas the duration is tied, in part, to the duration of the health coverage, e.g. 1 year healthcare policy results in a 1 year visa duration.
I just received a marketing email from expatgoup.co regarding longer duration healthcare policies, up to 3 years, which meet Colombian visa requirments. Initially the web page reads like they are 2 year duration but about 1/3 of the way down the page they mention 3 year duration as well.
I have not used expatgroup.co's services and cannot vouch for them. There are likely other services with access to the same types of healthcare coverage with more than a year of coverage on issuance. That said, this information may help someone here in obtaining a visa with more than a year of duration.
