Random rookie questions about moving to CR

Ok, as I said, I'm new here and still researching every.little.thing. about making the move to CR. I have some questions that are probably asked here often but I couldn't find by searching:

1.) My stuff. What's the best ways to get my necessities there, such as my computer (desktop), and things I really want to bring? Is it plausible to ship it UPS or FedEx and pick up in San Jose once we're there? Or pack everything really well in suitcases?

2.) Schools in the Jaco/Hermosa area. My daughter will be in 2nd grade when we're there. We have to come home often (approx every other month for a week at a time) so I don't know if there are hybrid programs available for these situations? I plan to enroll her in a virtual school but I really, really need for her to be in school a couple days a week for socialization.

3.) A car. We plan on buying an old jeep or mini SUV here, fixing it up and shipping it there. I know, I know, taxes are crazy and this will cost us but I don't know of any other way to have a vehicle. Any input?

4.) Flights. Anyone know which airline is the best to rack up points and save the most in airfare? Since we will come home often, we need the best bang for our buck. We will be flying in and out of Ft. Lauderdale or Orlando. We usually fly JetBlue but I'm kind of an idiot about points/frequent flyer.

Thanks so much!
