A bright spot and the reason I write today, water

Buenos dias! you know you here all the time about how "expensive" it is to live in Costa Rica and I agree it's not cheap.

Some things are a lot more expensive like electronics, gasoline, vehicles but many things are about the same.

The good news is that there are many things that are cheaper here in our little slice of paradise! "Mano de obra" or labor, fruits and vegetables, coffee and while the price of kilowatt hour for electricity is high I have no HVAC and my electric ( in the mountains) runs $30-40 month and my "budget' bill from Georgia Power was $188 per month.

A bright spot and the reason I write today is I'm thrilled and amazed each time I pay for my water. I buy it from "Acueducto San Isidro de Alajuela" and it's piped here from the mountains above me.

I just paid three months, 11/15 was $7, 12/15 was $8 and after extensive watering of the new garden and house clean up for our wedding here in January it was only $14.90.

My Atlanta water billed averaged $40-45 per month for ever.

I hope this helps put some perspective on the cost's of living here?
