Hello everybody - New to the forum

Hi everybody. I'm new here so just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Dave and my wife Lori and I are visiting Costa Rica in the spring to do some recon to see if we want to move there for about a year to kick off our world travels. We're pretty sure we do

I've been building my own business for about 5 years and I'm about to go full time, so I can work remotely from anywhere starting next year. I'm not concerned about having enough money, and we want to live simple for sure.

We don't speak any Spanish, but we're learning now and want to learn wjhen we are there.

How does this plan sound?

We will be staying in a smaller bed and breakfast outside Atenas for a few nights for some relaxation, then heading to a hotel in Alajuela to use as our base of exploration.

We will only be there 9 nights total, so we need to make the best use of our time.

Right now we're considering Alajuela as a possible place to live at first. Once we're there, we can explore more and decide where our first location when we move will be.

We would like to visit a nice beach once or twice while we are there (the vacation part of our trip), but mostly want to explore the surrounding towns and cities around San Jose form the perspective of moving there.

When/if we do move there, I will require a good internet connection for my work, we do not want to live by the beach, and we do not want to live in a very touristy area. We will need to rent a fully furnished place, small is OK.

I'm about to dig in and read as many posts as I can, but any advice for a newbie would be much appreciated!

Thanks for everybody's contributions, we're looking forward to our next chapter in life!

- Dave
