Moving September 2012

I am looking to move to Cyprus to study my Masters Degree in Larnaca.

I have quite a few questions, so many thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.

I have lived in South Korea for the last four years teaching English, and my wife and I feel like a change of pace. We will both be 30 next year, and plan on having a baby before we arrive.

I am aware that rices have been hiked in recent years and that a lot of the information given on the internet is now outdated. How much are the following items (approx)

Cheese / bread / milk / 4 chicken breasts / pasta / potatoes / nappies for babies...

I have been looking at renting a 1 / 2 bedroom apartment for a year with prices ranging from 250 - 550 euros a month. Does this sound reasonable?

How much on average do monthly outgoings (for the home) add up to?

Am I likely to incur any 'hidden' costs from the apartment?

Who is responsible for fixing a problem with the water?

Any information that people can provide would be hugely appreciated.

Many thanks,

Martyn
