"..Greek Cypriots CANNOT CLAIM that the government in control of Northern Cyprus gave their homes to Turkish Cypriots....
Although the United States does not recognize it as a state, the TRNC purportedly operates as a DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC with a president, prime minister, legislature and judiciary...
TRNC is NOT VULNERABLE to a lawsuit in Washington"
NOTE: Previously, The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) rejected Greek Cypriots' request to return Northern Cyprus:
27.05.2010: ECtHR: “The places where Greek Cypriots migrated from north of Cyprus are NO LONGER THEIR HOMES SINCE GREEK CYPRIOTS HAS LIVED ALMOST ALL OF THEIR LIVES IN OTHER PLACES AND HAVE NO CONCRETE AND PERSIST?NG LINKS WITH THE PROPERTY THEY CLAIMED. That's why, Greek Cypriots have no right to return back to the north”
(Tasos Asproftas: [Application no. 16079/90] and
Marianna Petrakidou [Application no. 16081/90]).

(The Greek Cypriots objected to the decision of ECtHR and took the case to the referral of the Grand Chamber of ECtHR;
18.10.2010: ECtHR Grand Chamber rejected Greek Cypriots as well, and THE DECISION THAT "THE RETURNING BACK TO THE NORTH CYPRUS IS IMPOSSIBLE" was finalized as a CASE LAW: (Rejection of Asproftas and Petrakidou)
(ECtHR Referral Decisions: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?izlctlan0vm7le9 )
Cases referred to the Grand Chamber

Requests for referral rejected (page 1)

Asproftas v. Turkey and Petrakidou v. Turkey (nos. 16079/90 and 16081/90); judgment of 27.05.2010 (page 3)
That is to say, "THE RETURNING BACK TO THE NORTH CYPRUS IS IMPOSSIBLE" became a UNIVERSAL CASE LAW via decisions of USA Federal Court and European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).
In the case where Greek Cypriots filed, HSBC was also among the suited sides. By the decision of USA Federal Court, it also became clear that:
INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES MAKE BUSINESSES IN NORTHERN CYPRUS FREELY WITHOUT FACING ANY LEGAL ISSUE.
(IT IS ENOUGH FOR INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES TO SHOW THIS DECISION OF USA FEDERAL COURT IN CASE OF ANY INCONVENIENCE. INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES CAN STATE THAT "EVEN THE AUTHORITY OF USA FEDERAL COURTS DOES NOT COVER NORTHERN CYPRUS" IN ANY INCONVENIENCE THEY FACED.
THE LAW SYSTEM OF NORTHERN CYPRUS WAS ACCEPTED IN EUROPE AS WELL:
Not only the "Immovable Property Commission (and related laws) of Northern Cyprus but also ALL LAWS OF NORTHERN CYPRUS WERE ACCEPTED IN EUROPE (European Court of Human Rights):
ECtHR Decision 02.07.2013, App. nos. 9130/09 and 9143/09;
Pavlides v. Turkey; Georgakis v. Turkey
http://hudoc.echr.coe.int/sites/eng/Pages/search.aspx#{"fulltext""Pavlides"],"documentcollectionid2""CASELAW"],"itemid""001-122907"]}
ECtHR: "...notwithstanding the lack of international recognition of the regime in the northern area, a de facto recognition of its acts may be rendered necessary for practical purposes. Thus, THE ADOPTION BY THE AUTHORITIES OF THE "TRNC" OF CIVIL, ADMINISTRATIVE OR CRIMINAL LAW MEASURES, AND THEIR APPLICATION OR ENFORCEMENT WITHIN THAT TERRITORY, may be regarded as HAVING A LEGAL BASIS in domestic law for the purposes of the Convention".
Note: In the above related case, the Greek Cypriots were immediately rejected and their case application was found to be "inadmissible" by ECtHR.
