Hi,I am an American expat who's married to a Dane. I'm also vegetarian and find it quite difficult at times living in such a meat loving country. Thankfully I love to cook,so that's not the problem,I was wondering how others are dealing with it. Also, the criticism about my diet can make me feel uncomfortable at times, mainly because it reminds me of the fight I had to go through in the early 90's in my small town when I first changed my diet. It's been hard at times, especially since I lived in New York City for almost 10 years, where my lifestyle is very understood.
I guess I'm just a little tired of feeling lonely here because of the way I live.I also don't drink or smoke, which adds to the "problem".People seem to get rather upset with me because I don't do these things and it can,at times, make me feel further away from having new friends.
Thankfully I have a wonderful husband who has recently given up meat,by his own choice.
Like I said,I would just like to hear about others going through this problem and how you've dealt with it.
