Want to Move to Denmark!

Hi there! I'm a US citizen and I'm in love with a Danish man. :) I also would really like to move to Denmark for the opportunities and the different culture.

However, I am very lost as to what and how I have to do this... I have a few questions I'm hoping someone can answer for me.

I'm hoping to be moved into Denmark early next year... is that a reasonable timeframe?

1. Debts... what do I need to pay off? I own a home and I do not believe I can sell it as I owe more than its worth with the crappy market we're in now. Am I allowed to rent it out? I also have student loans.

2. Taxes... if I keep my home here, how do taxes in the US work if I'm no longer a citizen?

3. Bank accounts... do I have to get rid of all my US bank accounts?

4. Do I have to notify any office in the US that I am leaving the country? I have been to the website for Denmark on relocating and I know all about the things I need to do there...but what do I need to do in the US?

I am currently applying for jobs in Denmark... I work in Information Technology as a database developer and I know I'm on the positive list... so, I imagine getting a job would be fairly easy. I don't have to worry about where I will live or anything as I will be living with my boyfriend who is already a danish citizen.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Roxanne
