New visa requirements

Hello All,
This week I had to visit with immigration officials in Otavalo/Ibarra and was informed that the law for tourists visa was changed sometime this spring. Anyway, to make a long story short, only residents of Peru, Bolivia, Columbia, Venezuela and Argentina are now allowed the 6 month stay per year in Ecuador. Residents of other countries may only stay 90 days per year without the 12IX visit from your country of origin. A person can no longer stay his/her 90 days, leave and come back for an additional 90 days.
Visa laws are changing very quickly here, so it is advisable to always have current information.
