mandatory medical insurance

The reason I bring it up on this forum is because some of us are moving abroad to escape some of the things we don't like about our home among other reasons. I also know that many of us are self insured medically since the medical costs are so much lower abroad.
So the question comes up after reading this article; How is this going to affect expats? Will we be forced to buy into a government plan and if not face the stiff penalties since we are still US citizens? Another question that comes up is will the government also come up with an expat Tax? Something to think about.
I HAVE NOT RESEARCHED THE SOURCE NOR DO I CARE TO. I WILL NOT READ THAT WHOLE BIZILLION PAGES HEALTHCARE PROPOSAL EITHER. You can read the article and come up with your own conclusions and/or questions. I do not buy or sell the contents of this article. Its just food for thought.
