children's size horses used in photo props in Plazas

I am starting research on the use of small wooden horses covered in cow skins that are used by photographers in local parks, plazas, etc.as props for photography. I've seen them in Quinche, Otavalo, Banos, and am curious if any of you have seen these in other cities. I'm coming down in January to photograph and document these 'almost relics'. Your 'detective work' would be appreciated. Thanks, Ed
