Information on Quito

I am very excited to be inquiring about Quito. I have been looking at Ecuador for some time as a new home for economic reasons while maintaining a small property in the USA. I am approaching retirement age but do not plan to retire, at least not conventionally. My wife is originally from Mexico, now a US citizen, and my son is 8 years old and in the third grade. We are bilingual (English and Spanish) and have a possible opportunity in Quito so I would really appreciate any information I can get on it. Someone living in and/or around Quito?
