9 - VI Economic dependance visa through my baby??

Hi everyone, my husband and I are currently on 12-7visa but expecting a baby. Our baby's automatically going to be an Ecuadoriana so we were told we can apply for 9-VI. But how does this work? We cannot find any relevant information on the net so please help us. Especially,if there's anybody who obtained the residency in this way, please let us hear your experience. Thank you.
