I have already mentioned that I am planning a 7 week exploratory trip this summer and I'm working on possible trip plans ... but they are all cyber-based hypothetical.
Although my trip will be solo, I have a friend who is planning on meeting me for two weeks of it.
My son has spent time both on the coast and doing the Amazon thing .. but as a seasoned traveler, not as a potential re-locator. We are looking at the moderate to high altitudes (Cuenca area? Otovalo? or any other ideas.
So, my basic plan was to fly in to Quito, spend a few days, go north for a few days, then work my way around Quito and southward .... Banos, Cuenca, Loja ... then go out to the coast (for my enjoyment) and work north ... maybe visit the cloud forests ... then end up back in Quito. Does this make any sense? Am I totally deluded?
Also, if you had someone coming to join the trip for a couple weeks ... which area would be the best?
Yes, I know you are not here to be my travel agents or tour guides, but everything I read outside the forum is interesting, but reads like a promotion for specific areas.
Thanks,CL
