MajicJack

I had seen some comments on international calls and thought I would pass on this info -

I have had MajicJack - a VOIP device that plugs into a USB on your computer and you then plug in a telephone line into it - for several years now.

As long as one has internet connection one can use MJ. When you dial a number it goes to their servers in the US and then out through the US phone network. This makes any US call free - no charges other than the $19.95/yr. International calls to many countries are at $0.05/min as well - routed through the US system.

When one is outside the US all calls back are free.

If someone in another country has a MJ, that call is free as well - i.e., someone from Spain calling someone in Ecuador or Japan.

I have high speed cable internet and most of the time MJ works well. I have found that at times the caller will be broken up - this seems to be worse if my computer is doing a disc scan or some other hard use of the cpu and at times when there is high internet usage.

No, I don't sell them - just thought some might like the info.

Take care - jb
