Seeking information about Ecuador

First, I want to thank those who gave of their time and shared their knowledge and information that I have read on this forum.
I am strongly considering moving to Ecuador, and I am looking for as much information as possible about that country before I come down for a visit. Therefore, I hope that you have time to answer some questions and provide information. I have sent part of the following information to a few individual people; but now I have decided to post it on the public forum so that more people can respond and more can learn from the responses.
Depending upon what I learn after I make my first physical trip to Ecuador, I might change some plans. However at this time I am planning to buy my own 40 foot container, and use it as a storage shed when I move to Ecuador.
Did you, or do you know of anyone who moved things to Ecuador in a sea shipping container?
Do you have any recommendations where I could buy a good sea container at the best price? I now live in Southeast Arizona.
Do you know the name of reliable sea container moving companies?
Can you put me in contact with those who make it their business to help people like me get their container through Customs and Immigration?
Who do I contact to find out the regulations and rules of Customs and Immigration?
When someone’s sea container arrives, do they take every item out and inspect what is in each box?
If they remove things from the sea container, are there people standing around that steal items?
Is structural steel such as pipes, square tubing, rectangle tubing and rebar available in Ecuador? Could I buy 26 gauge steel sheets to build sheds or put a roof on a house or awning?
My plans at this time would be to come for a visit to see what life is like in Ecuador. Eventually I would like to locate between about 1 to 25 acres outside of a small rural town of less than 10,000 people. I would like a place where I can raise many varieties of fruit trees and a nice garden. I am not very interested in the ocean, because I would rather be up in the mountains where there is not very much humidity. Yet I do not wish to be where the temperature gets much below 50°F. It seems that such a place could be found in Ecuador. How much do you think such land would cost per acre?
What suggestions do you offer, as the best way I could go about locating land in the rural area? Can you put me in contact with anyone I could hire to show me around the country?
I thank you in advance for all information and help that you provide. May Almighty God reward you and grant you every grace you need.

Yours truly,

Patrick Henry
