1.Visti 2.Invest 3. Live Part Time 4. Maybe live Full Time

I plan on visiting Ecuador for at least a month but currently looking for some assistance. I am open to investing, using as part time use or full time later on. I like beaches, I like mountains and lakes as well. I am torn where I would want to live but understand for investment the beach might be the best place. I hear that talking to locals may be my best bet. Where is a good source to start? If I rent for a month should I get a rental car or rely on transportation everywhere I go to include the airports? Are mesquitos, scorpoins, or snakes a problem in Ecuador? People say its hot on the coast. How hot? Are there markets for fresh fruit all over (beach, cuenca and so forth) and do you pay more depending where you are? Is organic chicken and beef hard to find? I know this is a lot to take in but hopefully someone can assist.

Also, I just retired from the Army and currently 39. I have guaranteed income and would like to pick un an import/export business or something to keep me busy if I retire for good there. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Dale
