The Ecuadorian Expat Cook Book?

I just had an inspiration. ZipAgent and others were smoking meat on another thread and as the saliva started up I had an idea.

An on line, illustrated cook book! Actually a website organized like a series of those glossy, color recipe cards I recall from years ago.

The difference would be, the unique set of Ecuador's veggies and meat and seasoning plus the hard won experience of our forum cooking experts. Major point too, healthy, cheaper and moving us further into the life of Ecuador (vs. the expensive (or unobtainable) USA imports)

The site could pay its server cost with just a few of the usual links that service us wanabee Jubilatos Extranheros, lawyers, shipping companies, our host here, y otras.

Sections on how to buy at the produce market...a weekly update on markets around the country. Trends, alerts. How to store produce, how to clean it. Cooking, serving etc.

I know some of you, guys as well as the gringas, would work to out do one another with ingenious recipes. The collection would grow rapidly.

Cross indexing with hyper-links. A format for the photos and list of ingredients. Selectable measures, English/International (Pounds/kilos). A photo gallery of fruits and veggies we've never heard of with their local and latin names and variants. Just about everyone can take photos, right?

The experienced hand might learn something too. The new people, I've noticed on this site, are desperate for this sort of info...for reassurance initially. But new tastes and variety in meals is some of the frosting on life's cake - so such a site wouldn't get stale.

My mother and sister are big on the locally produce scene, the farmers market. I myself need to get a diet that's more farm and less factory. I would be half the man I am today if I had eaten healthy all my life.

I don't think such a thing exists. I believe it would be useful and people would use it. Maybe there could be some walking around money for me in such a thing?
