First wanted to make introductions..My name is Dina and my husband and I are the proud parents of 2 wonderful pre-teen boys.
I am an avid "House Hunters International" watcher as I love to travel and desire to "become part of the community" where ever I go.
Saw an episode about a week ago about Salina Ecuador, and to be honest, I was ready to pack up my bags and move the fam while the credits were still rolling...What an absolutely gorgeous country!
Anyway I am still very serious about the move but dont know if we are a "day late and a dollar short" as is our standard MO. (We looked at California, Colorado and Costa Rica 10 years too late) So my long winded question to the group is - are real estate prices (especially in the coastal areas) still manageable or has the opporunity to own paradise passed us by?
Also if there are any peeps on the board that can tell us about living/purchasing real estate oceanfront (possibly in Olon, Canoa or Montanita) please be kind and give us a brain dump of all of your experiences. I would be greatly appreicated.
One more think. What is the government stability like? - my hubby is a bit hesitant based upon its proximity to some less stable governments.
Anyway, I think that we will be travelling down to the area over XMas vacation.
