Let me share with you some things that I have learned about EC this past week, and then I want to ask those of you who w
ould care to respond, a question or two.
1. Ecuador is still predominately, "Third World."
2. Ecuador is really lacking in INFRASTRUCTURE, and EDUCATION; two necessary requirements to move up in the World.
3. To get around in Ecuador, one either has to walk, ride the, "chicken," busses, or purchase a 4 x 4, because roads are either bad, or non-existent. (OK, cabs count too, if you are running up town for an event or something.)
4. Many areas in Ecuador are poorly planned and laid out, and development is uneven.
5. Quito is a modern city, and their are some excellent Colonial Towns a well.
6. Overall weather and climate is varied and generally ideal.
