Bahia Ecuador is For the Lover in All of Us

There is a malecon wall, in Bahia Ecuador, which is facing the Pacific Ocean. Any day of the week, you pick the day, you will find lovers of all sizes and shapes sitting on this wall kissing and hugging their time away.

In this country of love, the word discrete does not exist. The only thing which matters here is what is happening at the moment.

This rare wall represents love to many and the sea which pounds against it may be saying if you are not in love, you must leave the area.

People walk by the lovers on the wall, but eyes never meet, as some heads shake and others break smiles. There must be some badge of honor given to those who sit on this wall and kiss to the beat of the waves each day.

There have been young and there have been old on this wall. There have been large and there have been small on this wall, but the main theme which you see are couples in love and that seems to be what matters most.

This is a very long wall, nothing small, and you can see a sprinkle of couples like an Ocean squall.

Maybe they’re in love, no one knows for sure, but today is the day which they will spend sharing themselves with one another.

After some time, in every case, when the kissing is finished, their eyes and hands meet as they stand and walk away. One can only imagine where they are headed as they swing their arms to the rhythm of each step.

Once they are out of sight another couple appears and the loving process begins again. As usual, they begin by staring at the sea and listening to the waves as they crash against the wall of love.

Then they turn to face one another and begin gazing into each others eyes, the hugs and finally, their lips meet and they never stop as they take a seat.

Once they are seated, the process could take as long as thirty minutes before their eyes and hands meet and they stand and walk into the distance with swinging arms to the rhythm of their steps.

It’s not for me to decide if this ritual is good or bad, but if I were the appointed one, I would need to conduct my own little test and then I would surely know.
