condo insurance

Looking at purchasing a condo in Crucita and finding out there is NO master insurance policy on the building. This is usually taken out of the association monthly dues in the states. Anyone have any experience with this situation? Would find it hard to buy property without some form of risk transfer. Thanks Mike
