FYI ~
For those of you who are physically here in Ecuador or who will be physically here on Sunday November 28th:
The National CENSUS will be taking place. Travel is prohibited that day. (I heard alcohol sales are as well).
EVERYONE will be counted for the Census. Whether you are Ecuadorian or foreign, you must be counted. This includes ALL ex-pats, no matter where you are from, what language you speak, or what your current Visa status is.
High School kids will start the door-to-door "counting" process which consists of a 4 page questionnaire. [each high school kid has 14 dwellings to visit]. You must stay in your homes until you are "counted". Process commences at 7am on Sunday Nov. 28th and ends same day 17:00 in most major cities. In smaller, more rural areas, they have until December 5th to "count" you.
Make sure to check your travel plans that day...
Best,
Amy Prisco
