Information for those who have limited space, lack of connections, or want a space saver washer & dryer in a different part of the home or condo than currently set up for.
I have located a combination Washer/Dryer that is combined into a single unit. This appears to be newer technology based on the US LG website information. It has a SS tub, programable timed wash, energy efficient., quiet with no belts is direct drive. And no venting is required. The model I found is 220V 15A. The US model appears to be 120V. Not sure if 120V is available in Ecuador. Wash dry cycle takes 2-3hrs or can be stopped after wash cycle & hang dry. Drying takes a little longer due to the process that does not require venting. Brand is LG. Model is WD 1409RD5. It can be viewed on-line in Quito at KISSU dot com dot ec. Consumers in the US reviews appear happy. I am buying one this Sunday. Price is $1105.
The space saver one unit washer with gas dryer on top runs from around $1200-$1400 for various models and all require venting for the dryer. I am not sure what changed in the past year but prices on major appliances are coming down and there is easy financing on these items now at 8% for Ecuadorians.
